The Alabama Library Association and The People Connect Institute Present
March 1st, 2007---On Wednesday, April 18th, The Alabama Library Association and The People Connect Institute will present Andrew Sanderbeck, the popular speaker, educator and library advocate, who will kick off the Alabama Library Association’s 2007 Annual Convention with an invigorating and insightful presentation on “Growing Our Passion – Alabama Libraries Sow Seeds for the Future.”
Sanderbeck, who regularly addresses professional library management and staff audiences all over the country, always provides powerfully fresh ideas that are easy-to-implement, so libraries can remain current, relevant and connected to their communities. He says, “It is important for library professionals not only to be passionate, but also sensitive to customer needs, and, just as in the for-profit sector, management must have a plan that everyone can embrace.”
Bonnie Lee, Chair of The Alabama Library Association’s 07 Conference said, “We are always looking for educational opportunities that raise the bar to help our members stay competitive. Change can be difficult, but we believe that Andrew Sanderbeck’s professional and approachable style puts people at ease and makes them more receptive to making necessary changes in themselves and their organizations.” Lee added, “Sanderbeck has also been retained to present two leadership sessions, entitled, “Leading With Passion,” not only to energize our existing leadership, but also to mentor future leaders.”
The Convention will open with Sanderbeck’s Keynote at 10am on Wednesday April 17th and run through April 20th at the Mobile Convention Center at One South Water Street, in downtown Mobile, Alabama.
