March 1, 2007---On Friday, April 12th, The Florida Library Association and The People Connect Institute will present Andrew Sanderbeck, the popular speaker, educator and library advocate in two separate sessions designed to introduce and strengthen professional skills at FLA’s 2007 Annual Conference. The 10am-Noon session, “Emotional Customer Service,” is designed to help build relationships with patrons and co-workers while reducing stress. The 3:30-5pm session, “Library Fundraising: The Role of Managers & Administrators,” provides a step-by-step guide using case study examples to illustrate both short- and long-term strategies that can be applied immediately.
Sanderbeck, who regularly addresses professional library management and staff audiences all over the country, always provides powerfully fresh ideas that allow easy implementation of new approaches so libraries can remain current, relevant and connected to their communities. He says, “It is important for library professionals at all levels to constantly be refreshed with new ideas and updated with new skill sets, so that everyone can contribute to the organization’s success.”
Stephanie Race, 2007 Conference Chair said, “We are always looking for educational opportunities that raise the bar to help our members stay competitive. Change can be difficult, but we believe that Andrew Sanderbeck’s professional and approachable style puts people at ease and makes them more receptive to making necessary changes in themselves and their organizations.”
The Conference will begin Wednesday, April 11th and run through Friday, April 13th at the Buena Vista Palace & Hotel in Buena Vista, Florida, just outside of Orlando. Deadline for discounted early registration is March 10th. To register, go on line at www.flalib.org.
