Preventing Harassment in the Workplace
A Half or Full Day Workshop for Management and Employees
As an employer, you have the responsibility to maintain a workplace free of sexual harassment and hostile workplace events. Not only is this an organizations’ legal obligation, but it also makes good business sense. If you allow harassment to flourish in your workplace, you will pay a high price in terms of poor employee morale, low productivity, and quite possibly lawsuits.
This highly interactive training, involves small group discussions and the use of various learning tools including a video presentation with an assessment. The training will also include practical information on the laws against sexual harassment, remedies for victims, harassment prevention and correction, discussion, role playing, a question and answer session and other effective learning techniques.
As a result of this workshop participants will learn more about:
- What harassment is; sorting out the myths from the facts
- Properly investigating claims of harassment
- The use of subtle language, suggestion, and physical (i.e. touch) in the workplace
- The actions, words or items associated with a hostile work environment
- What constitutes a clear harassment policy in your employee handbook
- The consequences of harassment: To the organization and the individual
- Employee and supervisor roles in preventing and reporting sexual harassment
- What your organization is doing to ensure a harassment free work environment (Bring a copy of your policy for our facilitator to review)
